The globe program has been established at Elizabeth City State University as an outreach program sharing the Earth Sciences with students and teachers alike.

GLOBE is a cooperative effort of schools, led in the United States by a Federal interagency program supported by NASA, NSF, EPA and the U.S. State Department, in partnership with colleges and universities, state and local school systems, and non-government organizations. Internationally, GLOBE is a partnership between the United States and 102 other countries.

Mrs. Cheryl Bogue, of H. L. Trigg, teaches a marine/biology class that is participating in the Globe Program at ECSU. On March 3, 2005, Mr. Ervin Howard, the ECSU Globe Trainer, demonstrated GLOBE Protocols entitled "Hydrology Investigation". This training program enlightened the students knowledge in measuring the quality of water at the ECSU established study site.
