On March 22-24, 2004, the NOAA Coastal Services Center in Charleston, South Carolina hosted the Coastal Ocean Observing System (COOS) /Integrated and Sustained Ocean Observing System (IOOS) Education Workshop. The objectives of this workshop were to:

• Initiate and education network associated with COOS/IOOS
• Develop a set of community recommendations and strategies for formal and informal education efforts and for sustained incorporation of these efforts into the IOOS.
• Identify exemplary components of existing websites that are relevant to IOOS/COOS education.

The workshop produced a draft resolution addressing these needs which can be seen here.
