Commitment to ECSU by UNH as part of NASA proposed work

Enhancing Pre-service Teacher Curricula:  Climate Change Education
Workshops for Minority Serving Institution STEM Education Professors
(Sept 18, 2011 – March 17, 2014)

Year 1 (Sept. 18, 2011 – Sept. 17, 2012).
The UNH team will provide the equivalent of two weeks of planning time to develop a one-week workshop for 16 Minority Serving Institution Instructors (MSII).  The UNH will consist of two scientists and at least one science educator/pedagogical coach familiar with teacher/instructor training and professional development.  Part of this planning time is expected to be in partnership with the ECSU team.

The UNH team will travel to ECSU during summer 2012 to jointly run the summer workshop in partnership with the ECSU team.

After the summer workshops, the UNH team will participate in activities to assist individual MSII or groups of MSII in the climate change content and curriculum adaptation via email and phone communication.

UNH team will work with project evaluator to provide input and any data needed to accomplish project evaluation goals.

Year 2 (Sept. 18, 2012 – Sept. 17, 2013).
