On November 9th and 10th, 2011, representatives from Minority Serving Institutions (MSI) and area schools attended a Climate Change Workshop at the Center of Remote Sensing Education and Research (CERSER) at Elizabeth City State University (ECSU). This workshop is sponsored by the NASA Innovations in Climate Education (NICE) program which ECSU and the University of New Hampshire (UNH) have joined in partnership. This workshop exposed participants to various research projects at ECSU by students and faculty. Another section of the workshop involved a presentation by Gloria Brown-Simmons, an artist and aesthetic engineer, who trains teachers for participation in the Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) Program. Participants were also taken on a tour of NASA Langley's Research Center.
