HUNT-MAPP MIDDLE SCHOOL PHOTOS
On Oct. 10 & 11, 1996, training for NetDay96 volunteers was conducted at
Hunt-Mapp Middle School in Virginia. On NetDay96, the volunteers worked
in three parts.
- First, the volunteers ran cables from a central point to the school rooms
(2-3 classrooms and library or computer lab).
- Second, they mounted wall jacks and wired the schoolroom
ends of the cables into the jacks.
- Third, the volunteers wired one end of each cable to a kind of "switchboard"
called a patch panel. After they installed the cable, a professional
tested it.
In addition to Hunt-Mapp Middle School, volunteers worked at Emily Spong Elementary,
Douglass Park Elementary, and Churchland Academy.
The following are pictures of the volunteers being trained for NetDay96.
