On May 17 and 18, 2007, Dr. Darnell Johnson, Chair of the Mathematics and Computer Science Department and Dr. Mehran Elahi, Chair of the Technology Department at Elizabeth City State University attended the Appalachian Forum on Undergraduate Education held at Appalachian State University in Boone. Attendees from the University of North Carolina system involved in the planning and implementation of undergraduate programs engaged in a series of round-table discussions on issues faced in making undergraduate programs meet the needs of students and North Carolina. This forum also provided an opportunity to discuss ideas, strategies, challenges and future steps for improving the undergraduate experience.
