The second meeting of the IEEE Student Branch #66221 was held on March 18, 2008 at 6:00pm in 229 Dixon Hall on the campus of Elizabeth City State University. Dr. Linda Hayden, president of the IEEE-GRSS, called the meeting to order. Dr. Johnson then spoke about the opportunity to attend the 2008 Sponsored Programs Banquet on Thursday, March 27, 2008.
Je’aime Powell, president of the IEEE-GRSS Student Branch introduced Uniquiea Wade who presented her research experiences while in the Center of Excellence in Remote Sensing Education and Research (CERSER) Program. Her internship experience included
- Modeling and Simulation of the Seismic TET walker Concept
- Correlations between the Concentrations of Chlorophyll a in Surface Waters and Dissolved Oxygen in Bloom Waters of the Northern Gulf of Mexico
- Airborne Measurement of Snow Thickness over Sea Ice
- Using Passive Network Discovery to Fingerprint Vulnerabilities within Ethernet Broadcast Frames
She also gave advice on gaining, maintaining, keeping an open mind before, during, and after the internship. She gave valuable pointers on how to go about finding an internship, how you should conduct yourself during the internship, that you may leave on good terms and have a lasting impact on that company to get called back.
