Many well-known over-the-counter drugs such as Tylenol, Advil, Bayer,

etc. have been analyzed using High Performance Liquid Chromatography

(HPLC)technique. The active ingredients in the OTCs are caffeine, aspirin,

acetaminophen, sailcylamide, and phenacitin. However, these ingredients in

generic OTCs have not been studied to the same extent. In this work, a

reversed-phase octadecylsilane (C-18) column will be used to quantitatively

and qualitatively determine the active ingredients in Regular strength

Alabukun and Extra-strength Alabukun generic OTC drugs.
